Cineflix Media, a prominent independent production and distribution company, is embarking on an expansion endeavor with the establishment of Cineflix Studios’ Vancouver branch, under the capable leadership of industry veteran Mark Miller.
This new Vancouver office is set to concentrate on the creation and co-production of scripted series, films, and factual content, catering to North American and international streaming platforms and broadcasters. In this strategic move, Mark Miller will assume the role of president, answering to Cineflix Media’s co-founder and CEO, Glen Salzman.
In recent years, Cineflix Media has steadily augmented its production footprint in both North America and Europe, encompassing entities like Cineflix Studios, known for hits such as “Tehran” and “Reginald the Vampire,” and Cineflix Productions, which has produced popular shows like “American Pickers” and “Air Crash Investigation.” The company also boasts joint ventures with C3 Media (“So Long, Marianne”) and Buccaneer (“The Burning Girls”), in addition to a creative partnership with December Films (“Reginald the Vampire”).
Mark Miller, with his most recent roles as president of Thunderbird Entertainment Group and CEO of Great Pacific Media, has an impressive track record in the industry, having executive produced successful series such as “Kim’s Convenience” for CBC and Netflix. Miller’s achievements also include securing the rights for “Blade Runner 2049” and the development of the Netflix animated series “Beat Bugs,” inspired by the music of the Beatles.
Glen Salzman expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, stating, “Launching a Cineflix base in Vancouver will open up opportunities to increase our production capabilities and also provide a valuable, ideally positioned co-production hub for our creative partners in Canada, the West Coast of the U.S., and beyond. I’m delighted that Mark, who has such a wealth of experience overseeing high-profile, successful scripted and factual productions, will be joining us to run the new division.”
Mark Miller added, “I’m excited to be joining the Cineflix Media group and looking forward to the opportunity to deliver more of the standout content for which the company is globally renowned, and especially to forming close and mutually beneficial relationships with creative partners through the launch of Cineflix Studios Vancouver.”
